Hall Around Texas Camping Gear

Hall Around Texas Camping gear

If you've been around this blog for any length of time then you know that we are big time lovers of camping. It's one of our favorite things to do as a family. Though, I often feel like we are a bit of "cheaters" when it comes to camping since we sleep in an RV. So we sleep bug free, with a tv, a bathroom and ac/heat. We joke and call it 'glamping'. But, rest assured, we are only in the camper to sleep {or if it's raining}. All other times we are outside usually from sun-up until sun-down. I've compiled a list of things {above} that we always make sure to bring on our camping trips.

Not pictured {because I couldn't find a picture for it}
- a propane fueled fire pit
- a mosquito repellent machine

We like to rough it. ha.

+ catch fireflies
+ ride bikes
+ go on a nature scavenger hunt {printable here}
+ make s'mores
+ tell stories by the fire

+ have a water balloon fight
+ star gaze {app}
+ find and identify animal tracks {app}
+ make a nature/camping journal

  3. Wonderful ideas, friend! We have yet to take the kiddos camping. I'm just not brave enough yet, but I hope that can change soon!

  4. Gosh, I want to take our kids camping so bad because I love the idea of it, but I'm not sure that I would survive! Haha. I have sleeping problems if I'm not in my bed, so I just don't think I'd do well. Maybe one day...

  5. Eee! I had to download the stargazer app! We usually have clear skies and looking at the stars is so relaxing and beautiful. Glamping is still totally camping!!

  6. If you can get past the whole outdoors thing camping really is the way to go! I used to as a kid all the time. But I hate dirt. I'm trying. Dipping my toe as it were. Mainly hiking. ;)

  7. OMG girl! It's like you wrote this just for me. We are going to start camping with the kids. Well, Drew and Cam are going to camp. Emmy and I will join in until bedtime and then I'll bring her home, so they will be nearby camping trips, but we are still excited about it. Thanks for the tips and ideas.

  8. Love the list and these ideas! I was just telling Russ that I think we need to get a snake bite kit for our house/ car in the mean time. Do you come come across many snakes while camping. I guess I should also work to identify good and bad ones too.

  9. We were just talking about camping and if we plan to go again this Summer (we do!). I'm going to share your list of goodies with James so he can start buying. He is the one who is in charge of how we camp and what we bring/buy. I'm pretty much clueless.

  12. So we are not big campers mainly because I just don't like to sleep outside, but I love everything else about it! So basically I'm a daytime camper then when it's time to go to bed I need an actual bed inside LOL. I love all these activity ideas, you can even do them in the backyard!
